Donna Cona Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Structured Cabling and Certified Electrician with experience in design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling, for one of our key government clients.
Candidate MUST have the following:
- Ability to read and create as-built drawings and cabling layouts;
- Familiarity with Structured Cabling Guidelines;
- Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code;
- Knowledge of structured cabling materials and tools;
- Ability to work independently and in teams;
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions;
- Experience with cable installation, testing, and conduit work; and
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
Additional Competencies:
- Experience with fiber optic installation, tracing, and patching;
- Experience with aerial and underground fiber installation;
- Familiarity with cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI);
- Experience using Fluke testers and certification tools;
- Ability to produce accurate as-built documentation;
- Experience in remote or logistically complex environments; and
- Experience with material staging and shipment coordination.
Candidate should have the following demonstrated experience:
- Install telecommunications cables including terminations and splices;
- Troubleshoot and repair communications cabling;
- Work with contractors and plant operators;
- Support shipping and logistics of cabling materials;
- Install and maintain cabling systems;
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes; and
- Maintain equipment and tools.
Additional experience:
- Perform cable certification testing and validation;
- Troubleshoot fiber and copper performance issues;
- Produce accurate as-built documentation;
- Support community deployments and site preparation;
- Coordinate material shipping and staging;
- Ensure safety compliance in all field operations;
- Work with network and systems teams during deployments; and
- Provide guidance to junior technicians.
