Donna Cona Inc. is currently seeking a Database Administrator, Level 3, for a remote contract opportunity with one of our key government clients.

Candidate MUST have the following:

  • A valid security clearance at the level of Reliability;
  • Developing and implementing procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database;
  • Controlling and coordinating changes to the database, including the deletion of records, changes to the existing records, addition to the database;
  • Identifying requirements for improvements to existing databases by determining users’ information and functional requirements and managing and monitoring the allocation of storage, processor, and network resources;
  • Developing and implementing security procedures for the database, including access and user account management;
  • Customizing database conversion routines;
  • Finalizing conversion strategy;
  • Generating new database with the client;
  • Maintaining data dictionaries;
  • Advising programmers, analysts, and users about the efficient use of data;
  • Maintaining configuration control of the database;
  • Performing and coordinating updates to the database design;
  • Developing and coordinating back-up, disaster recovery, and virus protection procedures;
  • Defining new database structures;
  • Defining data conversion strategy;
  • Defining database conversion specifications;
  • Maintaining and safeguarding the database;
  • Mediating and resolving conflicts among users’ needs for data;
  • Maintaining configuration control of the database;
  • Planning, developing, testing, and implementing new database structures;
  • Planning, developing, testing, and implementing database load or conversion strategies as required; and
  • Developing, maintaining, and enforcing database design.

Candidate should have the following demonstrated experience:

  • Prototyping, testing, implementing, and documenting Oracle 19c migration strategies;
  • Planning, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting new 19c database structures;
  • Migrating database from previous Oracle versions to Oracle 19c;
  • Planning, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting new 19c database backup/recovery solutions;
  • Planning, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting migration to 19c OEM;
  • Patching Oracle 19c targets (oracle home, database, agents, OEM, repository);
  • Migrating/upgrading previous OEM metrics, alerts, monitoring to new 19c OEM solution;
  • Assisting, monitoring, and recommending solutions to fix performance issues following the upgrade to 19c;
  • Assisting, monitoring, and recommending solutions to fix bugs identified following the upgrade to 19c;
  • Planning, developing, testing, and implementing scripts from old Linux version to 7.9 Linux;
  • Maintaining and managing Oracle databases;
  • Prototyping, testing, implementing, and documenting Oracle 19c DataGuard environment; and
  • Data Guard – Testing and Documenting DR Scenarios.
