Donna Cona Inc. is currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator, Level 3, for one of our key government clients.

Candidate MUST have the following:

  • A valid security clearance at the level of Reliability;
  • Performing DBMS installation, set-up, configuration, maintenance, and patch RDBMS in a virtualized Linux environment;
  • Performing DBMS administration – database creation, configuration, monitoring – database refreshes, recoveries, capacity planning and release preparation;
  • Advising on and implementing DBMS security requirements;
  • Performing DBMS optimization – Providing analysis and database optimization services, including DML performance tweaks;
  • Performing DBMS monitoring, including review of logs;
  • Mitigating database disasters and ensuring recoverability;
  • Investigating database performance issues;
  • Adhering to Shared Services Canada hosting standards;
  • Performing Database relocations and/or migrations, including to other platforms;
  • Providing Database operations, some of which is on a 24/7/366 basis;
  • Recommending and providing custom database support for ERPs like PeopleSoft, Open Text, Pen Fax/Seibel, and MS Dynamics;
  • Providing weekly status reports with weekly reporting of time in CIO Branch time reporting system;
  • Documenting and reviewing technical analysis, requirements, specifications, procedures, process, guidelines, best practice as per Database Competency Centre standards;
  • Attending and participating in meetings with team and clients and represent DBCC interests in designated meetings with clients;
  • Creating task lists and estimating effort for various work items;
  • Participating in application design, implementation, upgrade, testing and release activities;
  • Participating in the testing, implementation, and roll out of application releases;
  • Providing Quality assurance of database releases;
  • Mentoring other Database resources, employees, and Client application development clients;
  • Raising issues and making recommendations to DBCC Manager or his/her delegate;
  • Working as a member of the team, collaborating, and sharing information; and
  • Advising DBCC Manager and/or Team Leads on effective usage of various RDBS tools.
